How you prove it is your server
Anyone could say they run a server, so FiveRank asks for a code that only the real owner can place. You choose how:
- In your server config. One line in server.cfg. It does not change your server name or anything players see.
- Or in your Cfx.re forum profile. Put the code in the About Me of the account the server is registered to. No restart needed.
FiveRank then reads the public server list to see the code. It never logs in to anything of yours.

Nobody can buy a better ranking
That is why a ranking here means something. Servers are ordered by the players they have right now, measured the same way for everyone. Anything paid is labelled. The method is written down on the methodology page.
Questions
Does it cost anything?
No. Claiming your server and everything above is free. Paid plans add deeper analytics and more ways to style your page, and nothing about ranking is for sale.
Why do you ask me to add a code?
Because it is the one way to prove you run the server without anybody taking your word for it. Only the owner can edit the server config or the forum profile the server is registered to, so nobody can claim a server that is not theirs.
What exactly goes in server.cfg?
One line: sets fiverank_verify followed by your code. It does not touch your server name or anything players see in game. Like other server variables it is part of your server's public information, and it holds only that short code.
Can I do it without restarting my server?
Yes. Put the code in the About Me of the Cfx.re forum account your server is registered to instead. That needs no restart.
Do you get access to my server?
No. FiveRank reads the public server list, the same one the game's browser uses. It cannot log in to your server, read your files or see your players' private details.
What does signing in involve?
You sign in with Discord, which also adds you to the FiveRank Discord community. FiveRank reads your Discord name and avatar. It does not read your messages.
Can paying change my rank?
No. The player rankings come from live players, and nothing you buy changes them. Where money buys visibility it is labelled. The method is on the methodology page.
